Some of the strategies the OD practitioner can use to ensure the most accurate data are by choosing appropriate data gathering process by following data gathering methods based on their advantages and disadvantages, choosing the potential interviewees i.e. sample wisely, preparation of the surveys or interviews, using protocols, etc. The methods popularly used are Interviews, Focus groups, Surveys/questionnaires, Observations, and Unobtrusive measures. According to Seidman, 2006, interview data heavily relies on individual organizational members and their perspectives. Distinguishing between confidentiality and anonymity in interviews and maintaining rapport and conversation, listening to them and most importantly providing time are important things to ensure most accurate data. In the focus group for data, the facilitator should balance the interviews to get in-depth explorations and save time as well as together participants confirms the issues and their solutions as well. Maintaining objectivity, making them participate actively and extracting data from them would ensure accurate data.
