1.Explain what service is offered over an ISDN BRI circuit to the residential telephone subscriber.
2.How many voice channels are available on one ISDN BRI circuit?
3.Can an ISDN line carry data information along with voice information simultaneously? If yes at what bit per second rate is available for the data transmission?
4.When commercial power is lost at the resident’s home the ISDN line continues to function. True or False
1>Integrated Services Digital Network (ISDN) is a technology that uses existing telephone wires to transmit digital signals over the local loop.
It is much faster than a modem connection due to higher bandwidth.
The basic type of ISDN, Basic Rate Service (BRI), provides two B channels and one 16 Kbps D channel, for a total bandwidth of 144 kpbs. Therefore it is sufficient for individual and small business users.
The BRI is split in two sections: a) in-house cabling (S/T reference point or S-bus) from the ISDN terminal up to the NT and b) transmission from the NT to the central office (U reference point).
It offers a full-duplex mode of operation.
The maximum length of this BRI section is between 4 and 8 km.
With a dial-up service, you pay for the bandwidth you use. In other words, costs are assessed on how long you are connected. You can also purchase flat-rate usage plans, just as you can with dial-up telephone service that time.
Because ISDN uses existing Cat 3 wiring, no rewiring is required to connect to the service.
ISDN may be available in areas where no other high-speed Internet connectivity is available.

2>The BRI configuration provides 2 data (bearer) channels (B channels) at 64 kbit/s each. The B channels are used for voice or user data.

3> Yes,
provides home with simultaneous voice & data communications capability and advanced signaling capability
at the rate of 64 kbps

4> True

Please read the article and answer about questions. You and the Law Business and law are inseparable. For B-Money, the two predictably merged when he was negotiat- ing a deal for his tracks. At other times, the merger is unpredictable, like when your business faces an unexpected auto accident, product recall, or government regulation change. In either type of situation, when business owners know the law, they can better protect themselves and sometimes even avoid the problems completely. This chapter...
