Two college students who were short of funds parked their VW micro-bus in a secluded wooded area of nearby farmer’s land. They soon found that this car was a great way to live cheaply. Midway through their freshman year, the microbus quit running so it became their home although they could no longer drive it. They mounted solar cells on the roof, among other improvements. They lived there throughout their four years of college. After taking jobs at a big-five accounting firm they continued to use this spot as a weekend getaway a couple of weekends a month. They have now been doing this for 25 years. They have never received permission to be there nor been chased off. Can they acquire the land by adverse possession?

Answer #1

No, they can acquire the land by adverse possession as they are not living on the land. They are parking their bus their and if the land is no use for the owner so he allows them to park there but it doesn't mean that they are living on that. So no they can't acquire the land by adverse possession.
