Each of you have a different industry/industries that you are interested in working in down the road in your careers, and all of them require different skills to excel in them. I'd like you to tell me what industry/industries you are considering working in after your time at Northeastern, and what skills you think you'll need during your career in your chosen industry.

Ans:- After passing from Northeastern university I would like to make my career in Business or Data analytics. There is a huge requirement for business analysts in the IT/ITes service industries. Business analytics is one of the highest paying jobs in the 21st century thats why I want to make my career in the Data Science field. Data analysts or Business analysts is a multi-disciplinary field that requires programming, mathematical and statistical skills to excel in that field.

The core skills required to become Business analysts or data analysts.

(1) Communication Skills:- This is one of the most basic and common skills required in almost every field so as in becoming data analysts because data analysts deal with clients and higher-level management which requires strong communication skills.

(2) Problem-solving skills:- Data analysts is a technical job so it is mandatory to have problem-solving skills for those who aspire to become data analysts.

(3) Team player: Since data analysts have to work in a project with the team he should be a good team player and should know everyone's strengths and weaknesses of the team and able to communicate clearly with the team.

(4) Technical skills: Technical skills required to become data analysts or business analysts are- Mathematicall skills, Programming skills such as SQL, Oracle, Python, etc., Statistical skills as well since data analysts deal with a lot of data, therefore, this skill will be required.

(5) There are various other skills required by data analysts such as relationship building skills, Time management skills, should be goal-oriented, should be willing to learn continuously because technology is changing very rapidly and data analysts should be up to date.

These are the technical and non-technical skills required by business analysts or data analysts to excel in their field which I am working hard to possess these skills to become a master in the data-oriented job.

Note:- Business analysts and data analysts are almost similar nature of the job that focuses on data analysis thats why they required the same set of skill and therefore I have mentioned the similar skills for both the jobs.
