How are businesses in that country typically structured?

The most common legal structure of trading businesses in Ireland is Limited Company. However, the minimum share capital required to form the company is low as compared to other European companies. Hence, it is easier to bring to business to Ireland.

Are there a lot of management layers?

The organisational structure is typically functional with three layers of management- Top management, middle management, low level management. This is a fairly traditional structure, and chain of command is clearly defined. They are generally run as bureaucratic structures with slow decision making processes.

Does top management usually consist of many people or just a few?

There are generally a few people at the top who make decisions and that too in a bureaucratic manner.

What is the typical size of a company in your industry?

99.8% of businesses in Ireland are SMEs, i.e. they are small and medium sized entreprises.
