Answer #1

1) True

Vapor pressure is a colligative property.

Therefore, the vapor pressure of solutions is directly proportional to the amount of solute present in a solution.

The sugar is highly soluble in water and therefore it forms uniform mixture and number of water molecules on surface decreases. Which create a drop in vapor pressure much. whereas cornmeal is insoluble in water, have no role in vapor pressure in a systematic way.

2) True.

when the vapor pressure of solution drops, it needs more energy to push the molecules to reach atmospheric pressure, to do so they need more energy supply, which in turn affect the solution temperature.

3) True

If atmospheric pressure raises, it keeps more pressure on vapor pressure, so achieve it we need to supply more energy to vaporizing solution. Obviously the temperature of the boiling solution increases.

4) False

Therefore, the vapor pressure of solutions is directly proportional to the amount of solute present in a solution.

But, it has nothing to do with Atmospheric pressure.
