Initial area of cross section of flow

= (5 m)×(1 m)

= 5 m2

Final area of cross section of flow

= (9 m)×(1.4 m)

= 12.6 m2

By continuity equation

(2 m/s)×(5 m2)=v2 ×(12.6 m2)

Solving we get,

v2 =0.79 m/s
