2. Who are the letters to? What is there relationship?

He is writing to Margaret, his sister.

3. Where is Robert when he writes letter one? Why is he there? What are his plans?

He is on a ship docked at St. Petersburg trying to find the north pole and come out the other side of the world.

4. Where is Walton now? What do you think of his question "what can stop the determined heart and resolved will of man?

Robert is continuing on with his journey at sea. This means once someone is truly determined to do something not many things can stop him. As the paragraph continues maybe a cautious tale.

About a month. The ship got stuck in ice.

The man is chasing the creature. He is in a bad sickly condition.

Walton and the man have a lot in common. He feels like the man and him could be friends.

He agrees because he sees how dedicated Walton was and because he relates to him.

The modern scientist wouldn't believe in magic. They studied alchemist, physics, and philosophy.

The tree literally disappeared into a stump and he starts to study electricity.

One, she wants to join William in the after life because she is roman catholic, and two, a man visited her in prison (the priest) and told her she would be excommunicated if she didn't confess. She tries to keep her spot in heaven but by lying she actually went against this.

He is extremely depressed. Elizabeth now looks at men as evil.

The creature says he is extremely lonely. It is not expected from the creature the he can speak but what he said is expected.

The creature says trough all of his troubles it has made him a friend. Victor hates what he has done.

He killed William as revenge to mankind and Victor. He is not as evil as presumed.

43. What will cause the creature to change? Keep in mind this statement "I was benevolent and good; misery made me a friend. Make me happy and I shall again be virtuous." What sort of psychological understanding is Shelley showing here?

He watched over a family and this changed him. Throughout all the sad in his life it taught him to be a friend.

He remembers being abandoned. Watching a family and observing. He can speak at an average level.

They were all scared of him and attacked him and screamed.
