Identify the 6 major steps in an operational analysis and briefly describe what each step is trying to accomplish.
The six steps involved in operational analysis are as follows -
Step 1 - Formulate the problem
To formulate the problem, there must be analysis of these components - environment, objectives, decision taker and the alternatives. There is need to collect the data to formulate the problem.
Step 2 - Construct the model for representing the model under study
After the approval of the project, the operation researcher should create the model to show the relations of cause of action and effect as reaction.
Step-3 - Finding solution from the model -
The next step for the operation researcher is to find the solution from the model by collecting data. The data must be accurate or has least errors.
Step 4 - To test the model and verify the solution -
As there can be error in the solution, so the next step is to verify the solution is perfect or not. If the solution is not accurate then result will not be perfect.
Step 5 - To build control on the solution -
The best step is to explain the management about working, limitations, derivation, risk and the condition under which the model will work.
Step 6 - Implementing the solution - The last step to implement the solution being derived from the above steps. At this step, management must verify the staff understand the solution completely. So, the results will be positive.
