Answer #1
  • As we use mass, linear momentum, translational kinetic energy, and Newton’s 2nd law to describe linear motion, we can describe a general rotational motion using corresponding scalar/vector/tensor quantities.
  • If angular velocity is denoted by W and the object is rotating in a circular orbit of radius r then linear velocity V= W x r
  • As we use the equation F=ma  ( m= mass and a=acceleration) to describe a force in linear motion, we can use its counterpart   =r x F , to describe torque in angular motion. The descriptions are equivalent, and the choice can be made purely for the convenience of use.
  • And the last on is rotational inertia: The tendency of a rotating object to remain rotating unless a torque is applied to it. The same is done by mass of an object .( Newton's first law)

Hope this will help you . Plz give a thumbs up.thank u!
