Motorcycle daredevil on ramp!

A motorcycle daredevil plans to ride up a 2.0 m high, 20 degreesramp, sail across a 10 m wide pool filled with hungry crocodiles, and land at ground level on the otherside. He has done this stuntmany times and approaches it with confidence. Unfortunately, themotorcycle engine dies just as he starts up the ramp. He is going11m/s atthat instant, and the rolling friction of his rubber tiresis not negligible. Does he survive, or does he become crocodilefood?

Solution,

Height of the plant h-2.0 m angle of inclinati on e-20 Width of pool W-10m Speed of motor v-11 m/s Acceleration of the motor on the ramp a-g (sin θ+pg cos θ) 9.8m/s2 (sin 200 +(0.02) cos 200) -3.536 m/s Length of the ramp L sin 20 = (2 m) /sin200 -5.85m Speed of the motor at the top of the ramp (11 m/s(-3536m/s)(5.85m) 8.92 m/s Now he jumps into the pool with an angle 6-20 Length of the pool L=10m Devide velocity into components v, - vcos 20 = (11 m/s) cos 200 8.38m/s v, vsin 200 11 m/s) sin 20 3.05m/s Time for the projectile in air 2.0m (3.05m/s)t-98m/s2) Solve for 1.021 s Position of the motor during this time (11m/s) (1.021 s) - 8.56m x <10m Motor cycle cant crosses the pool and he fall into it He is not survive

The sport of skateboarding provides an excellent example of the principle of Conservation of Energy. In particular, let us consider 'vert skateboarding' where a personrides the skateboard on a vertical ramp that forms part of a hemisphere referred to as a 'half-pipe.' It consists of the transition from the curved part to the flatand the vertical. Below is a schematic of a half-pipe with the 'vert'. The surface of the half-pipe and the material of the wheels on the skateboard...
