A 3.00--long, 200-, uniform rod at the zoo is held in a horizontal position by two ropes at its ends (the figure ). The left rope makes an angle of 150 with the rodand the right rope makes an angle with the horizontal. A 91- howler monkey (Alouatta seniculus) hangs motionless 0.50 from the right end of the rod as he carefullystudies you.

Answer #1

Σ S =0

Tl sin150 * 3m = 180 N * 1.5 +91 *0.5

Tl = 210.33 N

1) vertial , Σ Fv = 0

(180 + 91 ) - 210.33*sin150 = 165.835

2) horizontal

210.33*cos150 = −182.1511

θ = arctan(165.835/182.1511) = 42.31 degree
