Question

Finding Apparent Weight (using mass and velocity) Need Help AsAp =( .. [will rate very well =)]

The figure shows the velocity graph of a 75 {rm kg}passenger in an elevator
1.What is the passenger's apparent weight at t = 1.0s?Wapp = --- N
.. was told is less than 735 N.. but still dont no how to get thecorrect answer =S
2.What is the passenger's apparent weight at t = 5.0s?Wapp = 735 N

ok so Mandy89 told me this is just w = mg = [75][9.8] = 735 N ..b/c of its constant velocity [thankz ;)]
3.What is the passenger's apparent weight at t = 9.0s?Wapp = --- N.. was told is more than 735 N.. but still dont no how to get thecorrect answer =S

I triedm(a + g) .. m(a - g) .. mg
which all gave me incorrect answers =S
Thanks ahead of time for your time&&effort =)

Answer #1
ok well..for the second one ..W = mg should give you the answer for constantvelocityw = [75 kg][9.8 m/s^2] = 735 Nbut im not sure about the other 2..i can tell u that the passengers apparent weight...in qn 1 is less than 735 N b/c its acceleratingpositively&&in qn 2 is more than 735 b/c its accelerating negativelysorry can't be more help =S
