If you really want to be C coder (I mean REALLY Serious) then you must learn every nitty gritty detail.

C language is not for learning pointers and data structures , You can learn those in Assembly Language in more detail than C.

To be a master of C you have to understand it’s purpose, why use C and not Assembly?Just because it is high level? No it plays a great role in Embedded Systems and micro controllers , micro processor.

If you want to master in C programming then you have to do practise a lot in practical CODING. All books are same because all teaches the same thing in different ways.

learn C programming properly.
Should know the basics of C and
There are 4 steps:
step 1:Understand the problem by reading several times until you understand.
step 2: Think logic of the problem.
step 3: Put a pen on paper and write algorithm for that problem by applying your logic.   
step 4:Then convert the algorithm in C code.
Same thing is apply to every problem you can  learn C programming properly.

Now Come with your second question that is how to learn Unix ?

The best way to learn shell scripting is to fall in love with the command line. Make Linux your primary OS (don't use OS X initially, the pretty buttons will seduce you away from the terminal if you're just getting started). If it already is, and if you're using a blingy desktop like Gnome / KDE / Unity / etc, get rid of it.

Start Working on it .explore things that will be the best way to learn Unix by practicing it.
