In this lab exercise, you will be doing the following: (A)Estimate the lower and upper 3dB frequencies using dominant pole approximation (B) Calculate the new upper 3dB frequency when a InF capacitance is inserted between the base and emitter (C) Calculate the new upper 3dB frequency when a lnF capacitance is inserted between the base and collector. You need to remove the lnF capacitor inserted between the base and emitter inn part (b). Data sheet readings have been provided for calculating Cu and fc The capacitance C is labeled as Cs in the datasheet, and it is the capacitance measured across the collector-base junction when the junction is reverse biased. To find the appropriate value, you will need to find Vee (-Vc-Ve) from your DC analysis, and then find the corresponding value of Gb. Likewise, for find the corresponding value from the graph for the DC collector current you obtain from DC analysis. After estimating Cu and fio you can find C: using the equation: P2N2222A 30 500 VCE 20 V T 25°C 20 300 10 5.0 100 3.0 2.0 0.1 02 03 0.5 0.71.0 2.0 3.0 50 7.0 10 20 30 50 REVERSE VOLTAGE (VOLTS) 1.0 2.0 3.0 5.0 7.0 10 20 30 50 70 100 IC-COLLECTOR CURRENT (mA) Figure 9.
