ipconfig/ifconfig command is used to configure and check the network interface on the computer and view the information about them. The ipconfig is used on Windows OS while the ifconfig is used on the Linux, Mac OS, and other Unix OS. The ipconfig/ifconfig command allows the user to see the IP address and other related information of the computers networks. Ipconfig can be used to see and modify the Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol DHCP and Domain Name System DNS settings. The command ifconfig can be used to configure, control, and query the TCP/IP network interface parameters on the Linux, Mac OS, and other Unix machines.
