33) The above diagram could not be for hydrogen.

In the above Grotrian Diagram it is clearly shown that the ground state of the atom is 3s. If it was the Grotrian diagram for Hydrogen then the ground state should be 1s. Because the electronic configuration of hydrogen is 1s1.

In the above diagram the outer electron is at n=3. Principal quantum number change is unrestricted. That means transition may take place from any higher shell to lower shell or vice versa. Angular quantum number change is restricted. That means only s to p or p to d (delta l=plus minus 1)ets transition can take place. It obeys selection rule. The above diagram may be for Na.

34) Ionization energy is the required energy to make an atom to an ion.Generally to remove an electron from its outermost orbital to infinite. From the Grotrian diagram its clear that more than 5 ev energy will be required to remove an electron to infinite distance.

So ionization energy/ dissociation energy will be greater than 5eV.
