2 food is broken down by chewing in the mouth emulsified with salivary enzymes rich in Amylase which digests the carbohydrates, moves through the pharynx larynx esophagus, reaches the stomach where gastric acid open the protiens activate pepsinogen to pepsin which digests the proteins and then carbohydrates and proteins are absorbed in the pylorus and first part of duodenum. Food is acted upon by lipase from pancreas in the second part of duodenum and is absorbed in the third part of duodenum and ileum. Fat enters enteric circulation acted upon by bike furthers breaks it to triglycerides and cholesterol
