Appropriate scope statement for the project of developing a teaching facility for management students in an existing building currently occupied by a commercial organization will be as follows:

  • Project Title: Management College Infrastructure Development
  • Project Justification: Our organization specializes in infrastructure renovation and development. This task of converting a building of commercial organization to a teaching facility for management students will be best performed by our organization.
  • Project Scope: The project will consist of renovating a building and developing it for use as teaching facility for management students. The project completion will take six months and it will be ready for use by November 1, 2019. Renovation will include development of Front office, Separate cabins for professors, Common room for teachers, Library, Auditorium, Class rooms depending on specialization, Cafeteria, ash rooms and other facilities.
  • Project Objective: To deliver the best management college infrastructure within the given budget and timeframe. It will include cost objective, Schedule objective and Acceptance criteria.
  • Project Deliverables:
    • Scope Statement,
    • Reports of project progress at even intervals,
    • Minutes of meeting after every weekly meeting,
    • Reports regarding issues identified during projects and their resolution,
    • Final output.
  • Project Success Evaluation: Depending on the blue print of project, its success will be evaluated on following grounds:
    • Specific,
    • Measureable,
    • Acceptable,
    • Reasonable
    • Time-bound,

It is true that other parties are involved in developing a scope statement and it is a time consuming activity. Other parties that will be included will be as follows:

  • Shareholders: Their decision is important because they will support decision.
  • Investors: They are important because they will support the project financially.
  • Employees: It involves architect, contractor, interior designers, and others.
  • Leaders and facilitators.

Assumptions that are used in developing the objective statement are that project will complete within the estimated time frame, with the provided resources and the outcome will be as desired.

Four risks to which the project would be exposed to are as follows:

  • Schedule Risk: The project might not complete in the defined period.
