Introduction: There is a high risk of depression among the various population of teens living across different regions of the world. One of the primary causes of the incidence of depression is the occurrence of different diseases like the HIV which causes serious depression among the teens and adolescents. The other reasons include the chances of occurrence of stress, suicidal tendencies and depression due to prevalence of traumatic conditions or due to intake of banned psychotic drugs. Cognitive behavioral therapy is important for the treatment of patients suffering from different mental abnormalities. There is lack of care of children in child stage or adolescent stage which causes the development of a stage of stress and anxiety.
Current research and Theory: There are incidences of depression due to the changes in the hormonal levels in the female due to environmental stress. The symptoms of depression are present in all of the races prevalent in the society like Asians, Hispanic, Caucasians, Asian-American and African-American youth. There are indications of prevalence of major depressive illness which is prevalent in adolescents belonging to different age groups. The age groups and symptoms of disease are classified in the following table mentioned below:
Conclusion:There are chances of occurrence of bipolar disorder due to the harsh environmental conditions with tendency to suffer from suicidal thoughts. The excessive intake of antidepressant drugs also causes the formation of maniac tendencies with hallucinations and false perceptions. There are other reasons like lack of parental communications and loss of life due to prevailing ill conditions of health leading to death causing sadness and loneliness in the adolescents and youngsters. The statistical study revealed that the left subgenual prefrontal cortex volume was reduced in women exposed to conditions of stress and trauma in the society. Anterior cingulate cortex glutamatergic were significantly lower in children with depression. The volume of the hippocampus was also reduced in women exposed to the conditions of stress, depression and trauma. The levels of serotonin were changed due to prevalence of stressful environmental conditions give rise to trauma and depression.The treatment of conditions of depression includes the intake of different drugs in the society like fluoxetine, Sertraline, Paroxetine, Imipramine, and Citalopram. There are other tricyclic inhibitor drugs and SSRI inhibitor drugs which causes an inhibition in the release of different neurotransmitter chemicals in the different brain regions of the patients.
