2. If the fundamental frequency of a guitar string is 250 Hz, what is the frequency of the second harmonic? Of the third harmonic? Explain.

3. Consider a vibrating guitar string. The loudest harmonic is the fundamental, but many higher harmonics are also present. Suppose you gently place your finger in the exact middle of the string. Because you’re touching the string gently, the entire string continues to vibrate, but your finger forces a node to occur there. Which harmonics will no longer be present on the string? How will the sound of the string be affected? Explain.
