The formation of green colored NiCl2. 6H2O from the closed vial containing dark purple colored  Ni(NH3)6Cl2 impacted the proportion, amount of substance in the vial.

There is decrease in the weight of dark purple colored  Ni(NH3)6Cl2 , in vial which consequently decreases mole of Ni(NH3)6Cl2 .

Hence, this changes brings significant changes on the proportion of constituents participate in the following reaction-

Ni(NH3)6Cl2  (s) + 6 H2O (g) -------------> NiCl2. 6H2O + 6 NH3 (g)
