a) A team with 90 wins of the 162 played , the final win %would be

90 / 162 = 0.55556

Ans: 0.56

b) A win % of less than 0.5 means the team would have won less than

0.5 x 50 = 25 games out of 50 played.

To make the play offs they need to have a minimum of 90 wins in total

i.e they still have to win more than 90 - 25 = 65 games

and the no. of games left are 162 - 50 = 112

so after june 1 thy need to have a winning % of 65/112 = 0.58

which is very do-able
