Hello ,
I am taking an introductory electrical engineering class
These are lab follow up questions from a Transient Circuits lab. In this lab we learned about how an oscilloscope measures voltage waveforms.
1. Describe in words the difference between the way capacitors and inductors respond to transient changes in voltage ?
2. An oscilloscope can only make voltage measurements. If you need to see the current waveform through the circuit instead, describe how you could connect the oscilloscope to the circuit to display a voltage waveform that is a linearly scaled representation of the current through the circuit?
hint: think of what linear circuit elements exist in the circuit. The correct answer is NOT to complete the circuit through the oscilloscope.
