a. If Area B is assigned to reception then maximum possible number of arrangements are factorial(5) = 5! = (5*4*3*2*1) = 120

b.

Total Distance to A: Waiting = 95*20 + 25*20 + 30*35 + 10*40 + 20*50 = 4850


Total Distance to B: Reception = 145*35 + 15*20 + 10*50 + 15*40 = 6475

Total Distance to C: Records/Lounge = 20*20 + 15*20 + 0*35 = 700

Total Distance to D: Examination = 50*35 + 10*20 = 1950

Total Distance to E: Outpatient surgery = 30*20 = 600


Total distance = 4850+6475+700+1950+600 = 14575 feet
