My
task is to respond to some questions for my high school
differential equations course after reading Gleick’s “Chaos” book.
I need to identify three themes from the book and relate them to
the course content, providing
specific and clear connections. For example, you might
identify that the duality between linear and nonlinear systems in
DEs is an important theme, and then connect this idea to the course
content proper (e.g., discussing the differences in methodologies
and approaches between linear and nonlinear
problems).
I’ve read the book, but I’m still stumped. Does anyone have
any suggestions on more than one theme from the book and how it
would relate to the course? Please also explain/elaborate on the
themes and how they’d relate to diffeq.
