Subject: Welcome to the class
Dear All,
It is a pleasure to welcome you all in the Business Writing Class BWC129. This batch of 2019 has plethora of talent and I am waiting to meet you all on 2 June, 2019 10:00 am for our first class.
This course has been designed with the objective of teaching you all the nuances of analyzing a business scenario and comprehensive business writing. We will be learning about various tools and methodologies in this class like PEST Analysis, Swot Analysis, PASS Analysis. Knowledge of tools like PASS Analysis would help you shine in the presentations which you will give in your prospective companies. We have integrated various types of assignments and hands-on exercises which will make learning quite interesting in this class. There will be 4 class tests, 2 mid tests and a final exam in this course.
Hope we collaborate and learn from each other in this duration of 72 hours course. All the best and See you Soon!
Regards,
Tina Scott,
Professor, BWC129.

Problem 1: Cam Dynamics The figure below shows a simple cam- follower system. Assuming no eccentricity and acceleration due to gravity g 9.8 m/s2 and mass of follower as me 1 kg. The displacement y of the cam is given as: y(e)a1 - cos()) where a 30cm and θ refers to to angle by which cam rotates in counter clockwise direction with an angular velocity of 200rpm 1. Make a free body diagram for the follower taking gravity into consideration...
There are complementary and alternative medicines (CAMs). Choose one CAM and discuss the scientific evidence behind it. What does the available data say about its efficacy, and for what outcomes? Is the data convincing, why or why not? Do you think you'll actually try it? Have you? What happened? Could you think of an effective CAM for someone who is battling cancer? What could this person do, why?
GF, a 63-year-old man with a history of hypertension, diabetes, and hypercholesterolemia, begins to develop episodes of chest pain with exertion. One week after his first episode, a bout of chest pain occurs while he is mowing the lawn. Twenty minutes after the onset of his pain, GF takes two of his wife’s sublingual nitroglycerin tablets. Within a few minutes, he feels much better. GF feels so well that he decides to take one of the sildenafil (Viagra®) pills that...
Blueprint Reading question. What is one key factor why a designer may choose on cam transition motion over another? A. Speed B. Time C. Dwell D. Stress
(1 point) Mechanical engineers are studying the influence of cam shape on the vibration produced at a given set of frequencies. An experiment is run in which the vibrations produced by four common cam shapes are measured and compared. Three specially made test cams are used. Each cam is divided into four sectors and each sector is machined to a different one of the four shapes. Thus all four shapes appear on each test cam. The test cams are run...

A straight-sided cam has both sides tangential to the base circle which is 25 mm radius and the total angle of action is 118°. A lift of 9.4 mm is given to a roller 19.8 mm diameter, the centr of which moves along a straight line passing through the axis of the cam. The camshaft has a speed of 243 rev/min. Determine...
Flag question The joint between the cam and follower without a spring forms a pair this pair is a: Select one: self closed pair force closed pair lower pair higher pair
The figure below shows a device driven by a carne. When rising, the cam has a polynomial The rising angle is B 160° The descent profile is cycloidal, and the descent angle is profile 3-4-5 for which the course S (measured in m) is given below (one in the up position also B 160 The cam has two rest periods of 10 and the other in the down position center of rotation of the cam that the stiffness constant of...

The cam lobe from a car’s engine, shown below in Figure 3, is cut from a steel plate. The upper half of its profile is described by the function y(x)=1.5-1.5x4,where y is the vertical height in centimetres above the x-axis. The x-axis runs from x=-1cm to x=1 cm, with the origin at its centre. The lower half of the profile is a semicircle of radius 1 cm. Figure 3 Cross-section of the camshaft in question 3 a. By splitting the area of the cam above the x-axis into a...
