1) Why is it necessary to filter the calcium iodate solution through dry filter paper, without adding any water?
2) If water had been added during the filtration process, how would this affect your calculated value for the Ksp of calcium iodate? Clearly explain whether your value would be too high or too low compared to the actual Ksp and why.
1. It is necessary to filter the calciuk iodate solition through a dry filter paper without adding any water. This is because the molarity of IO3- ions may change.
2. If water is added during the filtration process the saturation of solution may change. The solution may not be completely saturated which means the concentration of ions are not maximum. Therefore Ksp will be lower as the IO3- ion concentration is less.

For the preparation and standardization of NaOH with KHP im supposed to boil water for 1hr and 30 min to remove CO2....the problem is that if I don't boil it for that long and (30 min) b/c of not enough time but I put the water I boiled for 1/2 hr aproximately into a NaOH bottle with a CO2 absorber and stored it there for a few days. I would assume that I would have to boil the water again...but...
