1. It is necessary to filter the calciuk iodate solition through a dry filter paper without adding any water. This is because the molarity of IO3- ​​​​​​ ions may change. ​​​​​

2. If water is added during the filtration process the saturation of solution may change. The solution may not be completely saturated which means the concentration of ions are not maximum. Therefore Ksp will be lower as the IO3- ion concentration is less.
