The average density of canola oil is 0.92g/mL and the average density of biodiesel is 0.88g/mL. Compare the densities of the biodiesel and the vegetable oil to the literature values. Does this support you making biodiesel? Explain.
Hi
The density of the vegetable oil varies from 0.91 to 0.93 g/cm3 . So a average value of 0.92 can be taken.
Density of the biodiesel is 0.88 g/cm3 approximately.
Canolna oil is majorly used in making the biodiesel as the density of the vegetable oil is also near to the canola oil , we can use vegetable oil for making the biodiesel.
This same density is needed because the engines are made for that much density and the performance is best when biodiesel has the same density and for that we need to make it from the raw material having same density.
Hope this helps
Thank you
