Logs store several requisite information and for maintaining IT security proactively, we need to analyze the security events or other events which occurred in the network. If we need to check the information for security purposes such as if some kind of security issues occur like breaches, attacks, and other we can find out how were they attempted and what security issues occurred and what did they lead to. Thus, the log files contain the information which can be very valuable when we read and analyze them. We can track abnormal activity on the system, monitor the activity of the users and guests and any operations which were done on the system or software. Thus yes, it is important to monitor the logs on a regular basis.
