Answer #1

Congestion control refers to some techniques that can either prevent congestion before it happens or remove congestion if it is already happens.

1) Retransmission timer management

TCP use retransmission timer to retransmit a lost segment.

Timer start when TCP send a segment and timer stop when TCP received acknowledgement.

If timer expired before receiving acknowledgement in this case segment retransmission occurred.

For example if sender has send 1st packet it start its timer, if acknowledgement receive before timer get expired then stop the timer and assume packet is received at receiver side without any packet lost

But if sender does not receive any acknowledgement and timer get expired then sender assume packet loss occure and retransmission of packet occurred.

2) window management

TCP use congestion window that avoid congestion.

If network can not delivered data as fast created by sender then it tells the sender to slow down.

Congestion policy :

1) slow start

In slow start phase after every round trip time

congestion window size increased exponentially.

2) congestion avoidance

After reaching threshold it increase additive.

3) congestion detection

If congestion occurred window size decreased.

Sender can guess that congestion occurred if retransmission of segment is needed.

Retransmission occure in two cases if timer expires and if 3 duplicates acknowledgement are received.

_________________ is one of the algorithms that TCP uses to control congestion inside the network. It is also known as the exponential growth phase. It is used in conjunction with other algorithms to avoid sending more data than the network is capable of transmitting, that is, to avoid causing network congestion. In this algorithm, the size of the congestion window (cw) increases exponentially until it reaches a threshold. The algorithm is specified by RFC 5681.

We conducted a comprehensive literature search on drones in conservation up to October 2nd 2018, in line with related studies [10,11,35]. All searches were done by the same person in English, mainly using Google Scholar. This was further complemented through reference harvesting, citation tracking, abstracts in conference programs, and author search, using Research Gate and Mendeley (see PRISMA Flowchart in Supplementary Figure S1 Checklist and list of studies reviewed in Table S1). We then removed duplicate and unrelated results. Finally,...

Risk management in Information Security today Everyday information security professionals are bombarded with marketing messages around risk and threat management, fostering an environment in which objectives seem clear: manage risk, manage threat, stop attacks, identify attackers. These objectives aren't wrong, but they are fundamentally misleading. In this session we'll examine the state of the information security industry in order to understand how the current climate fails to address the true needs of the business. We'll use those lessons as a foundation...

    10. Write a one-page summary of the attached paper? INTRODUCTION Many problems can develop in activated sludge operation that adversely affect effluent quality with origins in the engineering, hydraulic and microbiological components of the process. The real "heart" of the activated sludge system is the development and maintenance of a mixed microbial culture (activated sludge) that treats wastewater and which can be managed. One definition of a wastewater treatment plant operator is a "bug farmer", one who controls the aeration...
