1. Both of them are involved in money laundering,securities fraud to create fake records and trades and cheating investors by falsifying books and records and supporting bernie madoff.

2. Yes the punishment of the court is reasonable under the circumstances as they have cheated investors by knowingly creating software which create fake trades and records.Charges for money laundering,trust fraud,security fraud and doing conspiracy to cheat are applicable on them.
