HELP ME PARAPHRASE THESE QUOTES PLEASE. 1. “Studies indicate that 2 percent of adults and 8 percent of children have food allergies. Inhaling pollen from GM crops is creating new threats that need to be researched and evaluated”. 2. - “Americans eat genetically modified foods every day. Although the GM tomato has been taken off the market, millions of acres of soy, corn, canola, and cotton have had foreign genes inserted into their DNA. The new genes allow the crops to survive applications of herbicide, create their own pesticide, or both. While there are only a handful of published animal safety studies, mounting evidence, which needs to be followed up, suggests that these foods are not safe”. 3. -“This brave new world of genetically modified organisms (GMOs) is the result of scientists being able to pick a desired gene from one organism—a bacterium, plant, or animal—and transplant it into the DNA of another organism to achieve the desired results”. 4. “The introduction of GM plants may have negative effects on plant-dependent insects. Corn that was genetically modified to resist the pesticide, Bacillus Thuringiensis, caused death among monarch butterflies that fed from milkweeds mat caught the corn's pollen. Studies have shown that GM foods cause various health ailments in animals, such as stomach-lining erosion and dramatic changes in body weight. Therefore, GM crops can directly and indirectly affect animals and plants and can destroy agriculture from an environmental standpoint”. 5. “Genetically engineered crops are perpetuating an agriculture dependent on large applications of synthetic chemicals instead of techniques like organic agriculture and integrated pest management which seek to reduce or eliminate these inputs. Between 1992 and 2000, despite a large increase in the planting of genetically engineered varieties in this country, the use of chemical pesticides in agriculture increased from 900 million pounds to 940 million pounds”.

Answer #1

Food allergies are found to be more in the adults as compared to the children. Although the GM tomato has been taken off the market, millions of acres of soy, corn, canola, and cotton have had foreign genes inserted into their DNA. So most of the American population eat the genetically modified foods. Genetically modified organisms (GMOs) is the result of scientists being able to pick a desired gene from one organism—a bacterium, plant, or animal—and transplant it into the DNA of another organism to achieve the desired results. Genetically modified perpetuating an agriculture uses specific chemical fertilizers. So the use of chemical pesticides used in the cultural vegetation causes allergies in many people.
