Medical coding is the process of converting health care procedures,diagnosis and services into universally accepted standard codes that will be helpful for the medical billing and insurance process.

The medically-coded charts help the government to maintain a database or health records and statistics that can be used to guide policy makers to draft healthcare policies.

The Healthcare Common Procedure Coding System (HCPCS) is a coding system same as like that pf the Current Procedural Terminology (CPT) coding system.

HCPCS coding modifiers is classified in to Level I and Level II.The Level II HCPCS is a standard coding system used primarily to identify products,supplies and services not included in the CPT-4 codes.

We can see the classification of CPT codes with Level II HCPCS modifiers are as follows:

*Anesthesia Physical status modifiers:

The Anesthesia Physical Status modifiers will affect the provider reimbursement

*Anesthesia Modifiers

The Anesthesia modifiers will also affect the provider reimbursement

*Ambulance Modifiers

The Ambulance Modifiers do not affect provider reimbursement

*Site specific Modifiers

The site specific Modifiers do not affect provider reimbursement
