Answer #1

At boiling point , Vapor pressure (P1)  = 1 atm.

Boiling point (T1) = 76.7 + 273 = 349.7 K

at , T2 = 15.8+273 = 288.8 K , vapor pressure (P2)  = 0.0987 atm

Clausius clapyeron equation is

ln( \frac{P_1}{P_2} ) = Hvap R × (\frac{1}{T_2} - \frac{1}{T_1})

Or, ln ( 0,0987 ) = Hvap R × ((288.8 349.7

Or, 2.325 = Hvap R × (0.00346 - 0.00286)

Or, 2.315 = Hvap R × 0.0006

Or, Hvap R = (2.315/0.0006)

Or, Hvap R = 3858

Or, Hvap = 3858× R

Or, Hvap = 3858×8.314

Or, Hvap = 32078Jmol-1

Or, Hvap = 32.078 KJ mol-1

Hence, calculated enthalpy of vaporisation is more close to 31.9 KJ/mole.

Therefore calculated result supports that enthalpy od vaporisation is 31.9 KJ mol-1

[ R = 8.314 J mol-1 K-1]
