Answer #1

ans =option d (A&C)

Employees might not like their privacy being invaded at the whim of their superiors, but the employees can realize the interesting dilemma they’re in – one in which what’s seen as rational conduct by each employee is irrational when engaged in by every one. In big offices, the employees can reason that everybody else is misutilizing (at least to certain extent) their PCs, that their individual misutilization will have an inconsequential effect on the company’s profitability / survivability, & that every employee should do what everybody else is doing: take advantage of the chance to misuse their PCs – although long term company profitability & worker pay will suffer as an outcome of what all the employees turn out doing (or not doing).

Accordingly, employees could accept the invasion of their privacy, mainly because the gain in earnings & long run job security is of higher worth than the loss of privacy. Managers can utilize the software just because they’re doing what their stockholders & employees want them to do: make mutually advantageous trades with their employees which, in this circumstance, implies asking them to forego some privacy in exchange for the potential of greater pay & security.

However, we shouldn’t expect that the above reasoning will apply to all worker clusters. Some worker clusters will value their privacy very greatly, so greatly in actual fact that in few cases the management would have to add more to employee wages than the company could gain in higher productivity from utilization of the monitoring software. In such situations, utilization of the software would be unreasonable: It would hurt both the employees & the company’s bottom line.
