Answer #1

Answer

The correct answer is (a) \beta1 + \beta4.

Economic Model is given by :

INCUMBENT = \beta1 + \beta2MALE + \beta3PARTY + \beta4MARRIED + \beta5KIDS

Now, It is given that She is a female and thus implies that Male = 0. It is given that this voter is not registered with the same political party as the incumbent and thus PARTY = 0. She also does not have any kinds and thus KIDS = 0. As she is married implies MARRIED = 1.

Hence we have,

INCUMBENT = \beta1 + \beta2MALE + \beta3PARTY + \beta4MARRIED + \beta5KIDS

= \beta1 + \beta2*0 + \beta3*0 + \beta4*1 + \beta5*0

=> INCUMBENT = \beta1 + \beta4

Hence, the probability that a married female without kids who is not registered with a political party will vote for the incumbent = \beta1 + \beta4

Hence, the correct answer is (a) \beta1 + \beta4.
