Answer #1

a.

Every shipping error over 3 shipping errors per month reduces the customer retention rate by 2.5%

In this month the total shipping error were 6. It means it was 3 over the tolerance level. This would result in reduction of customer retention ratio by 3 X 2.5% = 7.5%

Each day above 3 days from ordered to delivered yields a reduction in the customer retention rate of 2%.

In this month the average days from ordered to delivered was 3.5 days. So the reduction will be 0.5 X 2% = 1%

Total reduction = 8.5%

Current rate = 75%
New rate = 66.5%

b.
Since total reduction is 8.5%. Change in market share = 8.5% X 1 /2 = 4.25% decrease

Current share = 21.4%
New share = 17.15%
