16) Skin assessment:

  • Skin turgor test is used to check the elasticity of the skin.It is used to check out for dehydration in children and adults who have diarrhea, vomitings, weight loss, fever and in skin conditions like scleroderma etc.
  • Finger nail clubbing is the deformity of finger nails or toe nails .it is usually associated with lung cancer or other chronic lung diseases like COPD, cystic fibrosis , lung abscess. Also, seen in congenital heart defects, infective endocarditis , celiac disease, liver cirrhosis,grave'disease, hodgkin lymphoma etc.
