Sign and symptoms

Negative changes in beliefs and feelings

Hyperarousal with difficulty in sleeping, concentrating.

Nightmares, feeling of going through event again.

Treatment

Psychotherapy or counseling focusing on memory o traumatic events

Cognitive processing therapy- Patient learns skill to understand how trauma changed her thoughts and feelings

Prolonged exposure- Talk about trauma repeatedly until memories are no longer upsetting.

Medications like Selective serotonin reputable inhibitors, serotonin- norepinephrine reuptake inhibitors
