In 1 st reaction hydrogen attaching to the carbon Wich contain greatest no of hydrogen atom forms secondary carbocation. Which then addition of H2O forms 2 butanol is the major product.

In 2 nd reaction hydrogen attaching to the carbon that attaching less number of hydrogen atoms forms primary carbocation which is least stable . Which on addition of H2O molecule forms 1 Butanol is minor product
