C. Myocardium

  • Heart is made of 3 layers of tissue - endocardium, myocardium and pericardium. Myocardium is thickest and made of muscle (cardiac muscle). Cardiac muscle is characterized by branched, striated, centrally located nucleus and presence of intercalated disks.
