As a nursing student you have been exposed to theory, clinical experiences, simulations, and skills. To prepare for licensing, what strategies will you employ to ensure a successful NCLEX outcome? Describe 3-4 strategies you will utilize to promote your success.
NCLEX is the nationwide exam for nursing. Success strategies of NCLEX include:
1. Assessment of knowledge: Going through the test plan of NCLEX exam is essential to get idea of important topics and subtopics for the exam. Proper time management is to be done to focus on these important topics. It will boost the knowledge.
2. Clearing doubts of weak areas of knowledge: Use of external resources like videos, tutorials, and online resources, and textbooks will help to get hold on weak ares.
3. Evidence-based critical thinking skills: It is essential to think like a nurse in the exam too. One should have critical thinking, clinical reasoning and decision-making skills to pass the exam. It will improve the test-taking skills and decrease random guessing.
4. Stress management : Inability to concentrate in exam, inadequate sleep before exam, sweaty palms, and anxiety are the signs of stress. One should have self-control, confidence, proper diet and sleep before the exam. It will reduce stress, boost the confidence and help in focussing in the exam.
