Answer #1

First, find the spring constant of the springs

Given that the truck sinks 0.0375m when a 105kg sofa is placed on it

Use Hooke's Law

F=kr

W = kr

mg = kr

mg

105kg * 9.81m/s2 0,0375m

105 +9.81 0.0375

k=27468N/m

=====================

Frequency, 27V m

= 27 mtruck + myofa

27468N/m 2200kg + 105kg

f=\frac{1}{2\pi }\sqrt{\frac{27468}{2200+105}}

ANSWER: {\color{Red} f=0.55Hz}

    Your friend, an artist, has been thinking about an interesting way to display a new wind sculpture she has just created. In order to create an aural as well as visual effect, she would like to use the wires needed to hang the sculpture as a sort of a string instrument. She decides that with three wires and some luck, the strings will sound a C-major dyad (C - 262Hz, G - 392 Hz) when the wind blows (note: A...
