Hey Dear,

Hope you are also doing well.

I have tried to give best possible answer. If you have any doubts, please mention in comment section. I will definitely respond back as early possible.

Ans:

1. True.

Note: You are correct. The US seller will generate foreign exchange gain, as the seller will receive increased foreign currency as compared to the earlier foreign currency booked. Likewise the US buyer will have to pay increased foreign currency as compared to the earlier, as a result there will be a foreign exchange loss.

2. d: Increase Decrease.

Note: You are correct. The General Motors will record the foreign exchange gain. In case of Yen increase the GM will receive increased Yen rate as compared to earlier booked Yen rate and in case of Real decrease the GM will pay decreased Real rate as compared to earlier booked Real rate.

3. Sweden.

Note: You are true. Swedish GAAP has applicable for single financial statement, whereas German IFRS has applicable for consolidated financial statement. There are a lot of differences.

4. c. A negative translation adjustment must be reported in stakeholders equity.

Note: here also you are correct. The translation adjustment needs to be reported as a line item in stakeholders equity section in balance sheet.

Thanks Dear. Have a wonderful Day.
