  • Home health care: Nursing care, physical, occupational, speech-language therapy, and medical social services.
  • Hospice care: Nursing services, physician participation, medical social services, counseling services, home-health aide, medications, medical equipment, laboratory and other diagnostic studies, respite care, therapists, and additional assistance through voluntary/charity organizations.
  • Adult daycare: Professional supervision, recreation and social activities in a group setting, nutrition, various levels of medical services, and transportation.  

2. How financed:

  • Home health care: Medicaid
  • Hospice care: Medicare and for low-income groups Medicaid coverage is there.
  • Adult daycare: Medicaid.

3. Human resource issues for service providers:

  • Home health care: Patient satisfaction, compensation, education and training, quality assurance, and working conditions.
  • Hospice care: Requirement of highly skilled professionals, adequate number of staff to allow individualized care, continuing education and training, patient satisfaction, compensation, and high-end technology.
