What this means is that a pregnant woman who has a history of abuse or a diagnosis of drug and/or alcohol dependence can be forcibly committed to an inpatient treatment facility by the court, even without evidence of current use, for the duration of her pregnancy to keep her from harming the fetus. This method can be best for a single women but not for a women who is carrying another life.As women's in the society are generally very soft and supportive who hold a family with love and kindness can make them more depressed if they are detained for the past drug abuse.This can drastically affect their emotions and feelings.The recent statistics describes the rate is high when the women is prisionised and make them to take the drug due to depression by being separated from their family and friends during the most crucial stage of their life.From the side of ethics is an act of injustice to a women who is not a current active drug user.This can be tackled by the government by regular and periodic visits of the healthcare professionals as home visits.
