Both the compound has ester funtionality. The general formula for compound is RCOOCR' , where R is may be hydrogen, an alkyl group, or an aryl group and R' may be alkyl group, or an aryl group but not Hydrogen.

The group nameof the alkyl or aryl portion is given first and followed by the name of acid portion. In IUPAC nomenclature the -ic ending of parent acid is replaced by the suffix -ate.

Coumpound 1

acid = propanoic acid and alkyl part is ethyl

so name is- ethyl propionate

Coumpound 2

acid = ethanoic acid and alkyl part is propyl

so name is- propyl ethanoate

the general name of compound 2 is propyl acetate
