• Sugar, fat, salt , chocolate and caffeine when taken in excess can lead to major life threatening diseases which fall under the umbrella of lifestyle disorders. These are: atherosclerosis, diabetes Mellitus, hypertension which can all have various systemic manifestations- mainly cardiac.
• Fat, sugar, salt ( atherosclerosis and hypertension) are mainly responsible for cardiac diseases.
• Behavior change therapy is what is needed here. With proper counselling , BT might be able to develop a healthier approach towards life.
• First, BT needs behavioral change. After that, he/she needs dietary regulations and dietary modifications. Routine health check-ups will be beneficial.
