The approximate mid-points for both the groups are:-

For Men: Here in this cases the total number of observation is even, so, the median is the average of the middle two values - 120 and 120. That is, the median is (120 + 120)/2 or 120. So, we can say that the approximate mid-point is 120.

For Women: Here in this cases also, the total number of observation is even, so, the median is the average of the middle two values - 170 and 180. That is, the median is (170 + 180)/2 or 175. So, we can say that the approximate mid-point is 175.

Since, here the average value of women is more than that of men. Moreover, the lowest value as well as the highest value of women are larger than men. So, over all these reasons, we can conclude or we can claim that women study more than men.

    7. Correcting for negative externalities - Taxes versus tradablepermits Paper factories emit chemicals as a waste product. This generates a cost to society that is not paid for by the firm; therefore, pollution is a negative externality of paper production. Suppose the U.S. government wants to correct this market failure by getting firms to internalize the cost of pollution. To do this, the government can charge firms for pollution rights (the right to emit a given quantity of chemicals). The...
